Democratic Socialist Party?

23 04 2009

This is a proposed Republican National Committee resolution as excerpted at Think Progress:

RESOLVED, that we the members of the Republican National Committee call on the Democratic Party to be truthful and honest with the American people by acknowledging that they have evolved from a party of tax and spend to a party of tax and nationalize and, therefore, should agree to rename themselves the Democrat Socialist Party.

I officially resolve that the Republican Party rename itself the Know-Things.  For one thing, when exactly has Obama nationalized anything? I think we’d be a lot better off if he would, but I don’t exactly represent most Democrats.

On another blog, someone suggested renaming the Party of No as the ‘Republic Nazi Party’. After all, if we’re just going to make up names, two can play at that game.

The GOP Time Machine wants to take us back to the good old days of Newt Gingrich, Tom Delay, Ralph Reed etc. whose only purpose in life was to turn America into a one party nation. Since they know best what we need/want, that should pose no problem whatever. As proof, we have only to look back to Hitler’s Germany, Mussolini’s Italy and Stalin’s Russia.
Thy will be done on earth.

Excuse me, but the automotive industry “bailout” and the banking “bailout” are both Govt stock purchase deals, at pennies on the dollar, I might add.

For the first time in US history, the government now owns a part of the private sector. By definition, that’s SOCIALISM, folks. New cars are now warranteed by the US Govt.

Remember, there are two parties in America … The Evil Party and The Stupid Party.

We’re totally screwed.

—————————
The “bailouts” are a Dem. administration function, which is consistent with the RNC statement.

Hey Milt, just for the record, exactly what makes Republicans “Nazis”? Do you even know the difference between Communism and Fascism?

Germany and Italy were Fascists, Stalin’s Russia was Communist.

Consider this a homework assignment.

Chris:

Even granting your definition of “socialism,” the government has owned parts of the private sector many times before. The most prominent instance is (and continues to be) the Tennessee Valley Authority. Based on your definition, the FDIC doing its job also fits well.

If you don’t know what either of these agencies are, consider that your homework assignment.
