But, besides the fact that it’s about time we started thinking of ourselves as well as the “children,” the thing that gets me is that the professors are fighting for education. They’re not even fighting for themselves.

They’re professional educators. They know how to do this thing called “teaching.” They know the educrat-inspired changes will result in no learning.

So they fight them, and get called greedy and lazy for it. Because people who work for about a fifth of the salary of a comparably educated doctor, lawyer, or CPA has got to be greedy, right? And don’t even get me started on the twelve-, fifteen-hour days. Why aren’t the lazy bums working 24 hours? It’s well known that they get “summers off.”
